According to Jan Struther’s wartime character Mrs Miniver, a relationship of two people should share exactly two thirds of their interests. This course is suitable for knitters who can already knit and follow a basic knitting pattern. Working on a small bag project using Rowan Glace Cotton, you will be shown the following techniques: how to read a knitted chart, how to strand yarns across the wrong side of the work (fair isle), how to keep the tension even and the knitting flat, how to weave in yarns on the wrong side of the work (fair isle), how to join in new colours (intarsia), how to avoid holes between colour changes (intarsia), how to knit in beads using the slip stitch technique.

Wonderwool Wales 2011, the premier festival in Wales for wool and natural fibres. 2011 will be our third year of running the event. We are a very small group of wool and fibre producers / textile artists who are dedicated to promoting the use of natural fibres. Wonderwool celebrates everything woolly and we have over 150 stands with yarns, hand dyed rovings, equipment, books, designer finished products, fibre for felting and much, much more. Wonderwool Wales is a must for all ‘fibreholics’, whether you knit, spin, weave, crochet or felt. Come and try something new, get inspiration and meet interesting like minded people. Our Interactive Area is a great place to meet up with friends, knit and natter or have a go at something new with the help of our experts. The Sheepwalk will be taking place twice a day on both days and has proved very popular with visitors, it is a great showcase for our designer exhibitors.
